Product Description The Belkin Wireless G Router lets users share files and a broadband Internet connection among their computers-without using networking cables. It features 802.11g technology that makes accessing files and networked peripherals-such as hard drives, printers, CD-ROMs, and DVDs-easier than ever. 802.11g technology provides you with networking speeds nearly five times faster than the current Wi-Fi (802.11b) standard. An integrated, 4-port 10/100Base-T Ethernet switch also allows you to connect wired computers to the network. 802.11g technology is the easiest wireless network to implement. The Router uses the wireless 802.11g 2.4GHz standard to offer you 400 feet of wireless coverage. 802.11g technology is backward compatible with the 802.11b Wi-Fi networking standard, so it allows you to implement faster wireless technologies in combination with existing 802.11b Wi-Fi networks.

Do not buy - needs to be restarted every 6 hours December 22, 2008 We bought this router from Best Buy and it worked fine for 5-6 months but then it stopped working suddenly. We asked Belkin for a replacement (as the warranty was still valid). Belkin sent us a "new" router that is a royal pain. It works in spurts and needs to be restarted via a LAN cable from a specific Windows laptop every 6 hours. This is a ridiculous excuse for a router. Do not buy. We should have stuck to D-Link routers, our last router from D-Link was fantastic, it worked for 4 yrs inspite of hundreds of physical falls.
Works well after upgrading firmware December 21, 2008 As-received, the router would only stay connected to the Internet for a few seconds at a time and then drop out. I called Customer Service (yes, they're in India, but had no problems whatsoever understanding their English) and they were very helpful; they instructed me to upgrade the firmware, and that fixed the problem right away. That was maybe 3 months ago, and since then it's been working just fine. I only took a star off because a product should be expected work well right out of the box.
Better for tarket pratice than a router December 5, 2008 It Drops connections like its going outta style. Forget trying to change a setting, it'll be 30 minutes of frustration just to get back online again with the setting the same as before. This Belkin router is the worst electronic product i've ever owned.
Pretty decent router for the $$ December 2, 2008 Reading some of the other reviews here, I was a little leary of this router. But the positive reviews swayed me to try it. And I am happy to report that my experience has been very positive. Easy installation, haven't had drop-outs, it looks good, signal strength is good and so is security. Bought this used from a Mac user who couldn't get it properly configured, so perhaps thats an issue for Mac users. I don't game, but videos stream no problem. I think this is a decent value for the money.
Does NOT work with Wii November 23, 2008 I've never had a problem with this router in over 2 years, until I bought a Nintendo Wii and tried to connect with the internet. The Wii will not connect to the net through this router. It is the only router listed on the "incompatible routers" list for the Wii, just my luck, lol. If you aren't planning on getting a Wii, it's an outstanding router. It has good signal throughout my entire house.
