5 out of 5 stars Works great   January 6, 2009
Used to hook up a Bravia TV to a sony receiver using 5.1, works as promised. Also, way less than what Best Buy wanted and works the same, as far as I can tell.

5 out of 5 stars Does the Job   January 5, 2009
I was a little hesitant to order this cable based on some review comments about the plugs fitting loosely. But for the price I figured why not give it a try because the brick and mortar stores charge outrageous prices for these cables. After I received it, I hooked it up between an Onkyo A/V receiver and a Sony blu ray player, as well as between an Onkyo C/D player and the A/V receiver and yes, the connection is not as snug as my other optical cord but it has no problems staying in the socket. It clicks in and the only way it will come out is if you pull or yank it out. It will not fall out by itself. Performance-wise, it carries signals just fine. I would purchase this again if I needed another cable. The build quality is not as good as my other optical cable (I don't know what brand the other is) but it works and the price is right - it does the job.

5 out of 5 stars Inexpensive and does what it's suppose to.   December 30, 2008
No problems porting my 5.1 audio from my Panasonic TV to my AV receiver. Can't beat it for the price.

1 out of 5 stars Worthless   December 27, 2008

Based on other reviews of the "good value" of these TOSlink cables, I ordered 3. Unfortunately, I'll never know if they work or not, because the plug is so insubstantial that it will NOT stay in the optical connector on any device with which I tried it. I've used many Tripp Lite products in my home and office and have always been satisfied. Wow, is this ever a disappointment! No wonder they're so cheap

5 out of 5 stars Cheap, good build quality   December 27, 2008
Please people, get over the fact that the more expensive cables are a straight-up rip off. This cable represents value (it's cheap) and quality (sturdy build) and that's all you can ask for from a Toslink cable. 0's and 1's simply don't disappear into the ether because they're being carried in a cheap cable.br /br / [...]
