Product Description The Wireless-N USB Network Adapter uses the very latest wireless networking technology, Wireless-N (draft 802.11n). By overlaying the signals of multiple radios, Wireless-N's Multiple In, Multiple Out (MIMO) technology multiplies the effective data rate. Unlike ordinary wireless networking technologies that are confused by signal reflections, MIMO actually uses these reflections to increase the range and reduce Dead Spots in the wireless coverage area. The robust signal travels farther, maintaining wireless connections up to 4 times farther than standard Wireless-G. BR With Wireless-N, the farther away you are, the more speed advantage you get. It works great with standard Wireless-G and -B equipment, but when both ends of the wireless link are Wireless-N, the throughput can be increased even more by using twice as much radio band, yielding speeds up to 12 times as fast as standard Wireless G. Your wireless connection is protected by industrial-strength 256-bit encryption. The included Setup Wizard will walk you through configuring the adapter to your network's settings, step by step.
Amazon.com Product Description The Linksys WUSB300N Wireless-N USB Network Adapter lets you access the fastest and most advanced wireless solutions currently available. With this unit enabling your PC or laptop, you can run media-intensive applications at amazing speeds, without the hassle or expense of stringing a lot of wires.p The Linksys Wireless-N USB Network Adapter uses the very latest in wireless networking technology, Wireless-N (draft 802.11n). By overlaying the signals of multiple radios, Wireless-N's Multiple-In, Multiple-Out (MIMO) technology multiplies the effective data rate. Whereas ordinary wireless technologies are confused by signal reflections, MIMO actually makes use of these reflections to increase the range while reducing dead spots in the coverage area. This means the signal travels farther, maintaining wireless connections at up to three times the distance of standard Wireless-G, so the farther away you are, the more speed advantage you get. This Wireless-N adapter is fully backward compatible, so it works great with standard Wireless-G and -B routers, but when both ends of the wireless link are Wireless-N enabled, you can experience increased throughput by using twice as much radio band, which allows speeds up to 15 times that of standard Wireless-G.p To help protect your data and privacy, this wireless adapter can encode all its wireless transmissions with iron-clad, 256-bit Wireless Protected Access (WPA2) encryption. Yet, despite a robust and deep set of features and functionality, configuration is simple and easy with an included web browser-based configuration utility. The incredible speed of Wireless-N networking is ideal for media-centric applications like streaming video, gaming, and voice-over-IP telephony, and gives you plenty of headroom to run multiple media-intense data streams at the same time, without worrying about a degradation in performance.p The Linksys WUSB300N Wireless-N network adapter is easy to use, and can be plugged in to any open USB port. To experience the full advantages of Wireless-N technology, it is highly recommended that you use USB 2.0. This unit is FCC, CE, and IC-03 certified, receives power through its USB connection so it doesn't require an external power supply, and is backed by a manufacturer's limited three-year warranty.

I love this product September 4, 2008 I was having trouble receiving and keeping a signal in airports and hotels. My laptop has a built-in mini wireless device that is not very strong unless you are very close to the source. I could receive an excellent signal if I sat in a hotel lobby, but back in my room I had nothing but trouble. Someone suggested this adapter so I gave it a try. I love it. I have had no problems connecting at hotels since I bought this adapter. I am running Vista. I can honestly say I have not had one minute of trouble. I am buying another one for my older laptop at home since I now have wireless at my home. I would recomend this adapter to anyone who needs extra signal strength.
I hate this product August 19, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have a desktop with XP on it and a laptop with built-in wireless. Both are my living room and the wireless router is down the hall. The Linksys USB wireless network adapter loses its connection three to five times a day. My laptop never loses a connection, so it obviously isn't the signal strength. To get the USB adapter working again, I have to unplug it and plug it back in to reset it. Also, if I use another USB port on my computer then it kills the wireless connection and I have to unplug it and plug it back in. This makes me crazy b/c I use my desktop computer to stream music while I work and I know right away when the usb adapter drops its connection and I have to reset it. Now I'm looking for a wireless LAN extender that I can plug my desktop into directly and throw this usb adapter in the garbage.
Crazy little thing ... July 22, 2008 I bought this USB Wireless N adapter to replace a Linksys Wireless-N PCI Adapter WMP300N that didn't work at all on my kids computer (Dell Optiplex GX 110.) That card was good when I tried it with a Dell Dimension 9100, but had an incompatibility issue with the old Optiplex. So, trying to stay with Linksys, I decided to try the USB version. br /br /I'm glad I did. The installation was a breeze (didn't use the Linksys drivers), and the computer works seamlessly with the adapter. The kids have a blast with their Internet games. I tried the adapter with a laptop and the Dimension 9100 and had the same results.br /br /Now, the kids want a newer computer; but, that's another story ...
Excellent product May 29, 2008 I use the Linksys WRT150N Wireless N Router at home with my PS3 and 2 computers. I use the Linksys WUSB300N Wireless-N USB Network Adapter (the item being reviewed) with my desktop since the router is in a different room and I don't want to run cables. I have a wireless G card for my laptop, but I switch to the USB adapter when I'm not using it on my desktop because it gets a much stronger signal and faster downloads than the card. In short, I love it. Being on a USB cable and having a stand, you can either plug it directly into the computer, or set it a little bit away from the computer for better positioning.
Good Way to Get Wireless-N via USB May 18, 2008 Wireless-N much better than Wireless-G. Be able to conveniently plg this device into a USB 2.0 port, is great. You can even tether this device up to 6 feet away from your PC to get better reception.
