Best cordless phones I've owned October 15, 2008 I have never been so pleased with a phone as I am with this set. We purchased these phones to replace a piece-of-junk Uniden set that didn't work more than 4 feet from the base and had so much static you couldn't have a conversation on them. I am so glad I did. The sound is clear, the phones hold a charge for an excellent amount of time, and they have some really great features. I love that they share memory, so you only have to program the phonebook once and it is automatically available in the other handset. I love the voicemail waiting display that tells me not only if I have messages waiting, but how many. The speaker phone works well, giving a good sound quality with less of the ambient amplification you often find in speaker phones. Overall, I highly recommend these phones to anyone with Vonage for their phone service.
Great phone durability, great call quality, easy setup July 9, 2008 I've had these sets for more than two years with Vonage. Battery life is adequate, call quality (vonage side) is great, and distance that I can take the phone from the base station is great. I have zero static as far as problems between the base station and the handset. Rarely do I ever have a call with any issue and typically the quality is very very good on calls.br /br /Multiple ringer options and other various features make you not even realize this is a special phone at all. It looks and feels just like a normal cordless phone, except you only have to provide it power. The rest is wireless to the base station.br /br /There are only two drawbacks I've found on the phones: Clearing the call log is/was a bit convaluted, and the batteries didn't give me much more than a year. Other than that, this is one of few products that worked correctly from day one and hasn't needed returned or repaired since.
not sure if it's the service or the phone... January 31, 2008 Well I do know that at various times, the service just drops calls...some times worse than others. The phones, however, seem to pick up and amplify sound to the person on the other end...people are always asking what's that noise...and seem annoyed at even the slightest sound. So I think the main problem is the phone. We've had ours just about 2 years and now we are replacing the batteries because they've lost their ability to stay charged...we'll see if that helps any other problems???? Sometimes I feel like the cell phone commericals "...can you hear me now?"
Thumbs Up! December 13, 2007 I use these for my businees phones and at $29.99 you can't really go wrong. Lots of features and unlimited use.... what's not to like? The phones work great and installed with no problems. Simply made a call to Vonage to add the Mac Address and that was it..... my service is up and running!
Don't use Vonage September 12, 2007 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
Yes folks, Vonage is a monster waiting to eat you. I had this phone set.br /br /First, the set itself is not bad at all. They work great. They have a bit of a short range and you can't cook or even go in the kitchen while talking cause the appliances cause drastic interference. br /br /The biggest problem is that it took two phone calls, two hours, and a lot of yelling for me to be able buy, yes buy, these phones from Vonage.br /br /Apparently, Vonage hires idiots who can't add one plus one to work there. I had JUST gotten my first package from Vonage and found that the phones I had sent to me just were not going to work in my situation. So I called customer "no-service" to tell them that I wanted to send those phones back in and BUY these phones. You would think that was simple enough but, oh no. They kept telling me I would have to buy a NEW phone service, or add a new line, or that I just was not allowed. br /br /Well, finally I got someone who spoke English and graduated elementary school on the phone and they fixed me up.br /br /The phones were just right with some limitations.br /br /Fast forward to a year later. I was moving to an apartment were I would NOT have cable internet. They simply did not offer it. Was going to be faced with good ole DSL. Of course that meant I had to have a land line.br /br /So I called up Vonage to schedule termination of my service. Sounds simple??? Not to them. br /br /Call 1 - After a long discussion with the call rep about why I was canceling and how I shouldn't cancel and how I should keep this service and pay for TWO home phones and how I should get a friend to take over this phone account instead of canceling: I was told they can't schedule service termination. I had to call be the day I wanted it turned off. And by the way, if I terminated before the 19th I would have to pay a $40 early cancellation fee since it had not been a FULL year of service.br /br /No big deal I thought. I would just call back that day.br /br /Call 2 - (the 18th) I called and AGAIN had a long discussion with the call rep about why I was canceling and how I shouldn't cancel and how I should keep this service and pay for TWO home phones and how I should get a friend to take over this phone account instead of canceling: I was told they can't schedule service termination. I had to call be the day I wanted it turned off. If they put in the order on that day I would have to pay an early termination fee even though I was calling one day in advance.br /br /Fine, I will call back on the dang anniversary day.br /br /Call 3 - (19th) I called and stopped the rep and told them I was canceling a stop badgering me about doing it. Just DO IT. They INSISTED I give them a reason. They REFUSED to proceed until I told them why. When I would not budge, they looked at my account notes and got the information. Yep! They had it all along. They just wanted to give me crap. Well, this time they said they cancelled it and tried to make me feel like a bum since I had the nerve to cancel.br /br /Call 4 - Well, guess what, not only did they charge me for the NEXT months service, you know, the month that I cancelled because I was moving. They also charged me with the cancellation fee!!!! I got a call rep and they acted like nothing was wrong. This was normal. I HAD to pay a cancellation fee. That was just how it was. And since I didn't cancel before the 19th I had to pay for the next month even though my service was terminated. br /br /I was furious and demanded a manager. They hung up on me.br /br /Call 5 - Again with the call rep asking 500 questions about why I cancelled and I exploded. After a lot of yelling I got a manager who told me that since I didn't give them 30 days WRITTEN notice of my cancellation, I had to pay the cancellation fee. He would be "nice" and credit my next month's charge. I told him that he indeed was going to give me all my money back and I had already talked to my credit card company who would refuse all charges from them. ( This was true. No bluff. I had called to make sure were I stood ) I told him he was NOT going to get anything in writing from me since I had NEVER gotten anything in writing from them. I never signed anything. Finally, he agreed to credit me everything back.br /br /Three weeks go by.br /br /Call 6 - I had yet to have my credit card credited. I called and again got the usual badgering about why I cancelled. After exploding on them yet again and getting a manager, he acted as if I had never called! Fortunately I had the name of the previous guy who of course, wasn't there that day. Long call short, they credited my charge card that day.br /br /So, for all you folks on the fence about Vonage.... if this story doesn't convince you NOT to use them, nothing will and you deserve all the hassle and hell they are going to give you.
