I actually am using this on an embedded Linux system (Qwerk robot controller). It works without problems.br /br /I have not tried this on a standard Windows PC, so I can't comment about that.
Great for laptops and travel, prefer a powered unit for a desktop ... October 8, 2008
Simply put when it comes to travel and using my Sony Vaiao which only has two USB ports this is a great product. Remember to use the power on your laptop though as this is not powered (it does have a power adapter point)and if any of your tools needs usb pwer it will drain extrememly quickly.br /br /Fairly large though and the cable is shorter than I use for the desktop, and hangs in mid air.br /br /Oveall a good product for what it's designed, laptops ...
Linksys USBHub Review August 23, 2008
br / This USBHub was extremely useful for my old Dell Laptop computer, which only had one USB port. Now, I can permanently connect my printer, backup disk drive and USB Mouse.br / It was very easy to install and the short length of the connecting cable wasn't a problem for me.

Great product and works as advertised. Has plenty of spaced out usb ports. In case your usb devices are kind of wide.

I don't like it, and had to go buy another one. the USB ports are too close together to be useful for me. I could not attach the broadband and printer, e.g., at the same time. I don't recommend it. There are a lot better ones on the market.
