5 out of 5 stars Transcend 8GB compact flash   January 6, 2009
I bought it for my son, I received it on time, Good price, I works, I am happy and would recomend it to others

5 out of 5 stars Not for action shots, but...   January 4, 2009
Writes slower than sandisk extreme III, but its cheaper and everything else is the same. Holds a ton of photos, stable and I love it. I was going to give it 4 stars when comparing to the SD extreme III, but it's not the SD and it performs to it's specs perfectly.

2 out of 5 stars Cheap, fast enough, but not quite reliable   January 1, 2009
For my purposes (shooting with a Canon XTi), this card is fast enough for my purposes; transferring 800 photos can take a while, but it's not like I have to do it that often.br /br /However, I find that it's just not reliable enough - every now and again, whatever devices (various card readers and cameras) I'm using with the card will be unable recognize it until power cycled or reseated. I've lost quite a few photos from times I've turned the camera on and not realized that it couldn't find the card until the photo opportunity had expired.br /br /Not only is losing those shots unacceptable, but it fills me with fear as to whether one day I'll suddenly be unable to access the card. I have learned my lesson.br /br /UPDATE: The card failed one day after writing this review.

2 out of 5 stars First one died. Still trying the replacement   December 28, 2008
I bought this to use in my new Olympus E-510. I took a few pictures, uploaded them to my computer. Then put the card back in the camera. The camera said the card needed to be formatted. So I did - and took a few pictures and tried to upload again. This time the computer said the card couldn't be read. When I put it back in the camera, the camera said the card needed to be formatted. I'm glad I was just shooting pictures for eBay and not on vacation or something.br /br /I exchanged the card through Transcend but haven't had a chance to test the replacement. I think they have some serious quality control issues. It appears that these cards either work perfectly or fail miserably. br /br /It's a really good price for a big, fast card. If you don't mind doing Transcend's quality control for them, it's not a bad deal.

4 out of 5 stars Fine   December 26, 2008
It's fine, after using faster cards on my camera, this one feels pretty slow, but it does not drive me insane and for the price, can't complain. The first time I used it it gave me an error, but it works fine after formatting it in camera.
