The Rangebooster N provides 4x farther wireless coverage than most 802.11g devices and decreases the number of dead spots. This router is compatible with 802.11g/n and is backward compatible with 802.11b, which allows compatibility with a variety of wireless devices. The router provides a firewall using Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) technology to protect your network from hackers and unwanted intruders. This router features MAC address filtering, parental control and also supports WEP, WPA and WPA2 encryption as well as Quick Router Setup Wizard for easy configuration of your Internet Service Provider (ISP) settings broadband connectivity. It also provides easy connection for new wireless devices onto the network.pThe DIR-625 now supports D-Link's new SECURESPOT 2.0 network security platform that provides comprehensive, managed security for all the networked devices in your home. SECURESPOT 2.0 is total network security for multiple computers in your home. WORKS GREAT SO FAR December 29, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
ONLY HAD FOR 2 DAYS EVERYTHING IS FASTER THAN THE LINKSYS WRT160 THAT I HAD ORIGINALLY PURCHASED AT OFFICE MAX BECAUSE THE SALES PERSON SAID IT WAS SO GOOD, I HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS AND WAS THROWN OFF FREQUENTLY, DLINK WAS FAST TO SET UP AND SECURITY AND SOFTWARE SET UP WAS GOOD. MY COMPUTER IS RUNNING FASTER AND HAVE NOT BEEN DISCONNECT EVEN ONCE, DLINK IS THE BEST. HAD AN OLD DLINK WIRELESS G THAT DIED AND IT WORKED GREAT FOR 3 YEARS.
function broken, and tech support doesn't know what I am talking about December 26, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
doesn't work with my wireless TV receiving box, though a DI-524 works fine. Looks like a known problem when googled the problem, but the tech support from D-Link doesn't know what s/he is talking about by just sending totally unrelated diag/fix info. Wanted to return the product but was too busy in the holiday season to do that.
Amazing Router! December 25, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I originally bought this router to load DD-WRT on it to do traffic shaping because I have 3 computers in the house used by different people, sharing the same broadband connection. I do a lot of bittorent downloads and it makes the other people's internet unusable. DD-WRT would allow me to do traffic shaping. To my surprise this router came with a QoS engine (tool for traffic shaping). The QoS engine works fine for my needs, now I can use bittorent and surf at the same time, so can other people in the house. It's amazing.
Great wireless router and simple to install! December 8, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found the set-up quick and easy and the router works great. I get great coverage all through the house.
Great range and easy configuration December 4, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This router has far greater range than I expected. It covers my whole house with a single router. The only thing I would want is better DHCP configurability. If you need to run your own internal DNS server, for example, to support a home network, you must also run a DHCP server because you cannot configure the DNS servers served by the router's DHCP server.
