Works Great on old XP desktop December 29, 2008 I installed this n/w card on my 2002 desktop computer running XP SP3, and it works great with blazing fast reception.br /br /(1) I first installed the software. IMPORTANTbr /(2) Then shut-down the computer.br /(3) I then Removed the old PCI modem card and the PCI 10/100 network card that I did not plan to use again. Then I inserted the new wireless network card.br /(4) Restarted the computer.br /(5) Logged in as Administrator on the computer, IClicked on Start -- RUN -- Typed in Services.msc br /(6) In the Services dialog box looked for name Wireless Zero Configuration, double-clicked on it and in the Startup Type set it to Disabled. IMPORTANTbr /(7) To be on the safe side, I then shut-down and restarted the computer.br /(8) When the computer started back up, I was able to use the Software provided by Trendnet to do a Site Survey to pickup all wireless networks; and choose the one I wanted to connect with. The Trendnet configuration software shows up in the Windows Startup Trey on the far right as a Histogram.br /br /Hope the instructions helps anyone attempting to install this card. br /GCbr /br /
works with Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04 October 5, 2008 Quickly picked up by the Ubuntu operating system and determined what driver was needed. Need to have a wired connection so it can automatically download the package (driver) and install it. Works absolutely great and was easy to get there.
difficulty with this product August 12, 2008 I am yet to get this thing to work. I have been trouble shooting for a couple of weeks now. The description seemed straight forward but this thing is not straightforward. It's 2008, it seems that technology should be advanced enough for things like this to work with minimal effort. Now I have to find tech guy to get this thing working and that service will cost more than the product!
Great item and price July 30, 2008 Purchased this when I was forced to resort to wireless internet, and it's been a great little adapter. I've never had a problem with it. It offers wonderful speed for the price, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a low-priced wireless adapter.
Worked with Ubuntu Gutsy out of the box! April 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am really impressed with this card. I installed it in 5 minutes in my desktop and when I powered up Ubuntu the card was detected right away. All I needed to do was select the SID and type in the password and that was it!br /br /I dual booted into my windows XP home edition and tried to install the driver but the install failed for some reason unknown to me. I am still debugging this part of it.br /br /Great of Ununtu (Linux), jury still out on windows.br /
