Inexpensive and shows January 9, 2009 This is an inexpensive GPS with basic function. It's lack of street name announce is a major drawback. Having the street name announced is an excellent confirmation you are on the right route. For $50 to $100 more you can get a device that has this feature.br /br /One can live without street announce, but what soured me on this device was being told several times to turn into a river. It was returned in favor of a Garmin 260W which I am very happy with.
Wow! January 9, 2009 This bad boy is the best! I can't believe how accurate it is. It's totally easy to use - just plug and drive. I love it so much, I don't think I'll ever drive again without it. :)
Clunky interface. Very slow GPS aquisition January 8, 2009 I only have experience with 3 GPS devices but this one had the worst user interface and by far the longest time to figure out where it is from the time it is turned on. It can take over 10 minutes! This is clearly useless when you're lost. br /br /The interface is very, very basic. The MioMap C230 is 100x better than this device for the same price.
small compact easy to operate January 8, 2009 Best GPS for the money and easy to operate, a must for all young drivers
How Did They Do It? January 8, 2009 We just took the TomTom on a road trip, and it was amazing! When we "disobeyed" the directions, it simply recalculated the route according to where we were then. And when we took a side-trip, it waited for us, ultimately remembering where it was we were going. It talks or it doesn't -- whatever you want, in whatever voice, in whatever language (Provencal? Basque?) What more could you ask?
