 Wonderful and very powerful... January 9, 2009
My wife loves her Acer Aspire she got for Christmas, however I am glad I got her the one with the 160GB hard drive and Windows XP (and the pink one, which she also loves). This is the perfect size for her and the full size keyboard is a plus! It has all the power of my full size laptop and the Atom processor is faster than expected. I found that you can use a flash drive to download software (if you have another computer with a CD ROM), so she doesn't need an external drive as of yet. I wish I had purchased the one with a six cell battery (I'll need to get her an extra one), however the three cell last longer than my full size laptop and the power cord is plenty long enough. The screen resolution is excellent (much better than others I checked out). My wife and I are thinking of getting one for our pre-teen for her birthday. I highly recomend this netbook.
 SOMEWHAT QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE December 31, 2008
I cant be double faced when i write down this review as 2 stars.br /I must admit...Afterall This is my second Purchase. Hence my second ACER ONE.br /br /I fell in love with my first White ACER ONE right off the box. Everything was working great.br /My 1st acer one specs...White, win xp, 160 hd, 1gig ram.br /br /Unfortunately...my second purchase of acer one...Pink, win xp, 160hd, 1gig ram is a different story.br /I noticed that the internal mic wasn't working. I tried to download the audio driver installed it...MIC WORKED!br /BUT whenever I restart the unit or logoff the pc...the internal MIC doesnt work.br /IVE TRIED UNINSTALLING THE DRIVER THEN REINSTALL...Same result...worked but dont restart otherwise it wont. Ive been googling the net to find out i have a few people with the exact issue. some however are worst.br /br /FORTUNATELY...using an external microphone through the available mic in slot works.br /br /My assessment on this Internal mic problem is probably a software driver issue and NOT a hardware problem simply because the internal mic works when you install the driver...and when it does work it works really well. but what do i really know.br /br /The only thing i can think of that is different with my 1st acer one was the bios.br /The first ACER ONE I have has the bios version .3301 while the pink one has the .3305 version.br /And I dont want to change bios just to find out...I rather wait for someone with the same experience who knows the solution send me a guide to fix this issue.br /br /Returning this pink acer is troublesome for me...and is somehow a waste of time and effort...br /For now i am awaiting acer to provide a fix for this issue which seems to me that a number of people are having.br /br /With this ...The unit is still a worthy buy. Just hoped acer fixes issues on items they sell.
 Nice little toy December 28, 2008
This netbook is quite nice, works well and is very light and portable, although it is at the end a nice little toy, not a real workhorse. If you are expecting a powerful tool you will be disapointed; if you are looking for a small play thing, you will enjoy this one. The price is adequate for what you get, though it is no bargain. As I see it, you get an adequate but far from outstanding computer: good for kids or teens.

This little pink netbook is the perfect answer when you have a space where you'd like to have an additional computer. While you can hook just about any peripherals to it (I've got a wireless mouse, a cd-rom drive, a calculator/keypad, and set of speakers), it's not the powerful main computer you'd want. But when we needed to replace an old notebook computer which served conveniently in the kitchen, this was just the thing. It's great for getting on the 'net to check e-mail, find a recipe, or look up a word, or for playing games. It's small size makes it ideal for traveling--it'll fit in a small backpack or large purse. And it's cheaper through Amazon than at Wal-Mart!!! Be forewarned, the speakers are awful, unless you're interested in finding the truest example of "tinny," but decent speakers are available for less than $20. And did I mention how CUTE it is???
Love this little computer! December 23, 2008
This little pink computer is just delightful. I am a Mac person and have never used Windows before, but it only took me a couple of hours to set up the computer and start using it. With a little help from my sons, I was on my way! Today I'm sitting in a coffee shop typing on my adorable toy. I've read my Email, the NY Times, and I'm listening to my favorite music on Pandora. I only started using it yesterday! I carried it here in my purse, it is so light. I just love it and I know it will be very helpful to me. It seems very user friendly and helps you whenever you have a question. Get one!
