Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
With the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router with SRX200 at the center of your home or office network, you can share a high-speed Internet connection, files, printers, and multi-player games with flexibility, speed, and security! p The Wireless-G Broadband Router with SRX200 is really three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect Wireless-G, Wireless-B, and other performance-enhanced SRX devices to the network. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection. By overlaying the signals of two Wireless-G compatible radios, the "Multiple In, Multiple Out" (MIMO) technology effectively doubles the data rate. Unlike ordinary wireless networking technologies that are confused by signal reflections, MIMO actually uses these reflections to increase the range and reduce "dead spots" in the wireless coverage area. The robust signal travels farther, maintaining wireless connections up to twice as far as standard Wireless-G. And the farther away you are, the more advantage you get -- the higher data rate and reflection-friendly technology can yield up to 6 times more throughput than Wireless-G in some situations.

4 out of 5 stars Woks Great (Once You Know 1 Trick!)   December 25, 2008
This is a fine product with a simple Wizard setup from the CD. But. Mine would not connect to any of my PC's during the setup - at first. Tried many changes in PC firewall and network connection setting, cables, nothing worked. Same error message over and over that the Linksys was "not detected". Solution: press the router's RESET button (inside a tiny hole on the bottom) and hold for 30-seconds while power is applied to the router. After that, easy as pie.

I wish I could give this NO stars at all.br /br /This unit failed after just one month of service. Shipping back to the reseller was not an option because of the lack of feedback from the reseller in the first place. br /br /Investigating this unit myself, I found that the wireless card was NOT PLUGGED IN PROPERLY! I know it didn't shake loose, because it was actually secured with double sided tape! That means it LEFT THE FACTORY IMPROPERLY ASSEMBLED!br /br /After reseating the card, it seems to be working so far. Only time will tell. I am not buying anything else Linksys. If it fails again, it will be replaced with an Apple Airport Extreme Base station.br /br /***Update***br /After two more weeks of poor performance from this unit, it was replaced by a USED Apple Airport Extreme base station. The Apple unit has been rock-solid, requiring no further interaction - it just works.br /br /I recommend NOT BUYING THIS UNIT AT ALL. Get the Apple AIrport Extreme instead.

2 out of 5 stars Router dies before second birthday   April 9, 2008
I have had this SRX200 router for less than 2 years and it recently started becoming intermittent and it disconnects from the modem every few minutes. Very annoying, and should have never happened.

5 out of 5 stars Linksys WRT54GX2   February 15, 2008
This works well. I also own a Linksys WRT54G and Netgear WGR614 and the WRT54GX2 is more stable in maintaining wireless connections. I still can't tell if the Speedbooster offers any advantage though.br /

1 out of 5 stars Many frustration   January 11, 2008
This sounded like a good product and I liked the appearance. The first unit crashed when I attempted to do a firmware upgrade wireless (blinking power light). After several sessions with Chat support was allowed to send it in for warranty exchange. The second unit was working fine until I purchased a Linksys print server and chat support decided to upgrade the unit wireless (another blinking power light) None of the methods on the internet or with Linksys worked. I was allowed another warranty exchange. The third router dropped the wireless link over and over. It dropped power for no good reason. I tried reinstalling firmware with a wired connection which went well, but gave me a blinking power light again. I give up!! I just got a Netgear router and it seems to be functioning correctly. I suggest you purchase electronic items from a local store!! You can just take it back when it faults. I spent way to much time and to much money trying to get this brick to work. I'm an advance tech user and have much more patience than the average person.
