Great Product December 27, 2008 I needed wireless for my very old IBM Thinkpad and the PCMCIA slots weren't working. My IBM only has USB 1.1 and this product works with that. I am on dial-up at home so for my downloads I go to the library and this product connects automatically and hasn't dropped the signal yet. I am very pleased and recommend the product whole heartedly. I found the included software a waste and somewhat hinky. I don't use it and uninstalled it. For the price you could do worse.
Cheap - Quick - Reliable December 12, 2008 The TrendNet was recommended by a co-worker, but I was skeptical. However for the price, the TrendNet USB Wireless adapter is great.br /br /My only problem was that the default speed was 54mps. The old PC in which I installed it could not keep up, so I slowed it down to 11mps and things are great.br /br /For the $20.00 I paid, it is the best investment ever.br /br /You can't even buy fast-food for a family of 4 for less than that.br /br /br /br /George
Small Annoyances October 23, 2008 It works very well most of the time, but every now and then it will start to get low signals of 1mb for no reason. I found that if you unplug it and plug it back in it will work fine for another couple days or so.br /br /I would recommend this Wireless card if you can handle those annoyances. Otherwise spend a little more and get a much better product.
Just plain junk September 13, 2008 This thing doesn't even work. If I have my computer right next to the wireless router then it works. Good luck finding drivers for it too.
Up and running in 10 minutes! August 12, 2008 I needed to get a new adapter for my PC after my old one died on me after 2 years. I installed the software and followed the SIMPLE directions and was up and running in 10 minutes! br /br /My signal strength is strong and I'm very satisfied with the product so far. I can't comment on the longevity of the adapter as I just set it up yesterday but based on initial setup and price this little adapter easily gets 5 stars.br /br /Oh, by the way, my wireless router is about 15 feet away through one wall and I run Windows XP if you're curious. This thing cost only $12 after a $10 mail in rebate at the time I purchased it(8/08). Hope this helps!
