Works great with my Mac G5 and Skype phone December 22, 2008 I've been using this router for two months with my Mac and I haven't had any problems whatsoever.br /br /I have a Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5 running Mac OS 10.5.6.br /The router I have is Hardware Version B1, firmware ver. 2.01.br /br /The other device hooked up is my Skype internet phone. My internet connection has not suffered in any way by running through the router. Response times and top speed seem to be identical to how they were without it. As other people have noted here, ignore the setup CD if you are running a Mac network. My service is PPPoE, so I had to switch my Network settings from "PPPoE" interface to "Ethernet" interface in the system preferences. I then had to configure the internet settings (such as user name, password, etc.) into the router itself by opening my browser and going to: 192.168.0.1. Also, users may note that as the internet now runs through the router, if you used to have to connect to the internet, that is no longer necessary, as the connection is always on. There haven't been any problems either with using the internet immediately upon waking my Mac from sleep mode. I haven't had to think about the router at all after installation, which is exactly what you want with this kind of thing.
JUNK! November 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this product to replace a Linksys router that failed. The D-Link EBR 2310 keeps disconnecting from the cable modem every 5-10 minutes. D-Link knows about this problem and they can not fix it. Do not waste your money. I'm going back to a Linksys.
Perfect For What I needed! November 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very easy to install and use. I got this so that I could have my PC (Dell XPS 410) and XBOX 360 connected to the internet at the same time. I have 2 tips for you:br /br /1. If you have VISTA, DON'T run the CD. VISTA can detect a new network. All you need to do is, connect your modem to the primary port, then your computer and other devices to the numbered ports. That is it, that's all I did and everything works great.br /br /2. Dont forget you will need a cable for any other things you want to connect. The unit comes with one (short) cable-so you can connect your modem to your router, then your pc to the router, but that 2nd pc, or 360, or whatever you'll need another cable. Suprising how many forget this :)br /br /Its a great router, price is good, easy set up works great. Recommended!
Bad service October 21, 2008 I am not happy with your return service. I made mistake ordering wired Router while I need wireless one, but the seller refused to return the router or replace it with wireless one.br /Khaled M Dadeshbr / Phone:313-384-8262
Let Me Explain October 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this a while back. It arrived in great condition and looked great. I had a lot of trouble setting this up on my computer. It was hard to get tech help and it currently sits in my closet. I went and bought a Lynsys a few days later. Maybe I am just not intelligent enough to hook this up but it didn't work for me.
