Product Description The Linksys Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband is really three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect both screaming fast Wireless-G (802.11g at 54Mbps) and Wireless-B (802.11b at 11Mbps) devices to the network. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Connect four PCs directly, or attach more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. The Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a 3G/UMTS or GPRS Internet connection (requires Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G/UMTS data card, available separately). You can also use a standard Ethernet attached Internet connection, like a cable or DSL modem, if available.Once your computers are connected to the Router and the Internet, they can communicate with each other too, sharing document files, a printer, storage space, and other resources. To protect your data and privacy, the Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband can encode all wireless LAN transmissions with WEP or industrial-strength WPA Personal encryption. The Router can serve as a DHCP Server, has a powerful SPI firewall to protect your PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks, and supports VPN pass-through. Configuration is a snap with the web browser-based configuration utility. With the Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband, you can create a secure wireless network with Internet connectivity, anywhere that 3G/UMTS or GPRS service is available.

Great product, poor documentation and support January 5, 2009 The unit works awesome if you have an approved card and update firmware. I gave this as a Christmas gift to my parents! They brought me the unit since they could not get it to work. br /The Goodbr /1) unit works as advertised provided you are willing to wade through poor support and documentation!br /br /The Badbr /1) No tech support number with the product. (they forward you to Verizon tech support which is useless and totally deceiving, a lame attempt to pass the buck Linksys)br /br /2) Updated firmware drivers buried on the website in some obscure location.br /3) After hunting a tech support number on the Linksys website and waiting 30 minutes...I eventually found the new firmware drivers and loaded them on my own.br /br /Ditto the other guys post:br /br /1) make sure your card is on their APPROVED list (only 3 cards work for Verizon)br /br /2) make sure your card has been activated and you have USED it in a computer, you cannot take a live card and just plug it inbr /br /3) have another internet source available while installing, that way you can log into Linksys Chat for any tech/setup related questionsbr /br /4) patience and a basic understanding on how these networks setup. If you have set up a previous wireless g or something, you know enough
buyer beware! Does not work With Vista December 28, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
You need to know that this product does not work with Vista. It is not being supported nor will it ever be by linksys for a software upgrade. Check out Linksys technical site for the model number compatibility. Amazon could have put this in the ad but they didn't so now I am stuck with the return and a probable stocking fee.
Lyncsis PC Card Router December 16, 2008 This product has proven to be an excellent value, It has allowed me to use my Verizon PC card to power my wireless enabled computers from anywhere in my home or propety.br / It was not as easy to set up as I would have hoped and certainly was not operable out of the box. We had to call Verizon support to reconfigure the router to make it compatible with the card and that took a bit of time otherwise it has exceeded my expectations.
EXCELLENT PRODUCT GREAT IDEA... October 24, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I READ THE REVIEWS AND WAS A LITTLE THROWN BY SOME OF THE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK. WELL I STARTED LOOKING AROUND AND MOST OF THE PROBLEM SEEM TO BE THE INSTALLATION OF IT. I WENT AHEAD AND ORDERED IT I RECIEVED IT FROM AMAZON WITH IN 4 DAYS WHICH WAS GREAT. I INSTALLED MY VERIZON PC5750 AIR CARD AND FOLLOWED THE SETUP DIRECTIONS AND OF COURSE IT DID NOT WORK. SO FRUSTRATED BECUASE VERIZON SAID THAT THE CARD WAS RECEIVING THE SERVICE THEY COULD NOT HELP ME OUT WITH THE ACTUAL PRODUCT. SO I LOG ON TO LINKSYS SINCE THEY DONT PUT PHONE NUMBERS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE INSTEAD THEY HAVE A LIVE CHAT SERVICE WHERE THE PERSON HELPED ME OUT WHICH WAS COOL. COME TO FIND OUT ALL IT NEEDED WAS AN UPDATE WHICH TOTAL IN TIME TOOK ABOUT 6 MINUTES. OTHER THAN THAT THE PRODUCT IS GREAT, THE WIRELESS DISTANCE IS REALLY GOOD AND I THINK IT IS ACTUALLY FASTER THAN WHAT IT WAS ON MY COMPUTER. OVER ALL GREAT PRODUCTbr / HOPE THIS REVIEW HELPS YOU OUTbr /CHEERS

Verizon does not support this device even though the package comes only with a Verizon tech support number. After attempting for 4 hrs to make it work with the linksys tech. I have given up and sending it back.
