Good net radio but has reliability issues August 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Soundbridge has good sound and worked well with my upnp setup for about 10 months. Then it stopped coming on. Since it was still under warranty I was able to get a new unit. The new unit also ran about 10 months before it too failed in the same way. I will not be getting another one of these.
The future August 17, 2008 This radio is a glimpse into our future. It allows me to tune in to any of tens of thousands of radio stations from around the world. If we want Hawaiian music, or New Orleans Jazz or Africian rhythms, we can go right to the source of the music. The quality is as good as a Bose Wave radio. The setup is a little complicated, but if you're patient and follow the instructions in the book and on the Roku website, you can easily program your radio from any computer on the network, or right from the radio itself. It has 18 pre-sets. You don't need to have any computer on for this radio to work; it picks up your wireless network and works with it. It will also pick up you music libraries from i-Tunes and play them. It has built in AM/FM and comes with antennas to maximize reception. There's a remote control, and the one weird thing is that you can only turn off the Soundbridge with the remote. The only option to turn off from the radio itself is a 10-minute sleep button. You can also turn on the radio remotely from any desktop on the network, and even outside the network through Roku's website. It's a wonderful product.
Works fine but questionable quality and terrible service August 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Roku SoundBridge R1000 Radio Network Music Systembr /br /The two radios works great off of my Verizon FIOS router. They are sometimes a bit funky and have to be unplugged and plugged back in to reinitialize the stations. br / br /One radio already went dead after 8 months as has been reported by others, apparently because of faulty power supplies.br /br /Customer service is the worst that I have encountered in any company. It has already been a month since the dead radio has been replaced. You can only talk to customer service person sporadically at the company and each step (getting the RMA, having a new radio shipped) takes weeks.
Amazing product August 9, 2008 I have had Roku Radio for 1.5 years. I love it, amazing sound quality, easy to use, looks cool too. My friends are always impressed when they see it hear it. I would give it six stars if I could.
Another one bites the dust August 7, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Good while it worked, beware of this product, from what I've seen it has a bad problem with power supply dying, which happened to mine, of course after warranty period - poor quality.Roku SoundBridge R1000 Radio Network Music System
