 works great with one caveat! January 7, 2009
This product works as advertised. Good response time, no problems BUT... We have two computers at home, both laptops. On one it was plug and play; on the other it failed. After some diagnosis, it seems that a Y connector USB cord was required. Another few bucks for that and all is well.br /br /I didn't make use of any of the provided software so I can't vouch for that.

Product was shipped quickly, worked great, and was the cheapest around. Most 320 GB Passports were double the price. Great buy!
Great HD fits in back of pocket January 6, 2009
I've used the Passport Essential for a few weeks now, using it to back-up documents, music, pictures, and videos. I've been very happy with the product because of the following aspects:br /br /Size/Portability--the drive is small enough to fit in a shirt or back pocket, really easy to carry around and durable enough to be tossed in my luggage.br /br /Ease of Set-up--I'm not the most computer savvy, but all I needed to do was connect the drive to the USB port and the program booted up automatically. WD offers a program called MySync which allows you to pick what you want to back-up, including email. You can pick what you want to back up pretty easily and be able to port that onto other computers.br /br /Style--simple and sleek, it fits in nicely with just about anything.

I love this product works really well with my laptop. It's so small and light I could carry it around with my laptop everywhere I go. I recommend to people who travel alot and need extra storage for their files to carry with them.
